This division serves as the liaison to the media and the public, ensuring accurate and timely information is shared during incidents, issuing official statements, coordinating press briefings, and managing public alerts and safety messages. It works with the incident command structure to keep messaging consistent and to answer inquiries from the community and other agencies. The other divisions focus on on-scene operations, administrative tasks, or training programs, rather than guiding public communications. That makes this division the one dedicated to public communications and information coordination.
